The hypocrisy between what our country represents and what our country is.

awkwardmoment808:

Tel-aviv, Israel, tonight. half a million protesters against the economic&political system - and that in a country of 7 million inhabitants. Jews, Arabs, Foreign workers, Refugees and students marched together chanting “The People demand social justice”.
The word is spreading. The World is watching. 99%!

jeff mangum [neutral milk hotel] playing at Occupy Wall Street.

this blows my mind on so many levels… i’ve been listening to NMH a ton lately [and subsequently thinking about jeff mangum and his amazing disappearing act, and how i wish someday somehow i could see him play]. so when i saw this today, it was like WHAT? UNIVERSE? YOU HEAR ME? and it gives me chills. some of it got me teary eyed. everyone singing the trumpety part of “in the aeroplane over the sea”? something about that is so magic to me.

not to mention, the music of any revolution is important. look at bella ciao, look at the music that came out of vietnam. neutral milk hotel’s songs were already written, but that doesn’t make some of them any less valid a statement when you listen to it in terms of what’s going on now.

Good people, good tunes
